Just a quick post to announcing the beginning of my blog. For those who don't know, Mark and I are moving to North Carolina and I decided to start a blog to help keep connected.
We are looking for a place to live in Burlington. I've learned a few things so far:
1. The phrase, "living on the wrong side of the tracks" has literal meaning in Burlington. The second you cross the railroad tracks, you can tell you don't want to be there
2. I would not be able to tell what side of the tracks I am on because I can't tell what direction I'm going. (No mountains, just trees)
3. The real estate in this area has not suffered from the crash like everyone else. This means, no rentals. We have looked high and low, even with a real estate agent, and only have a few leads. However, there is a promising one we will take a look at tomorrow...
4. I know everything is going to turn out just fine because the fortune cookie said so. We ate at the Red Bowl yesterday, and Mark's fortune cookie said: "Your Present Plans are Going to Succeed" See? So how could things go wrong? (Mine said that I could expect people to know my name in the future. It was crap and doesn't count.)
5. I can easily torture Mark with my attempts to develop a southern accent.
6. I should not read Stephen King before going to bed when we are staying in a creepy Best Western hotel because it freaks me out. Don't laugh, this Best Western is very creepy!
